A Time to Heal Cancer Foundation currently offers these classes and support groups in Omaha and Fremont:

    2019 Survivorship 101 Class

    For cancer patients and their caregivers, this research-based weekly class meets for 12 weeks. Our focus is on survivorship, wellness and relaxation.

  • Is the Survivorship 101 Class Right for You?

    This 12-week class is for cancer survivors and their caregivers who have completed treatment and/or are well enough to attend 12 weeks of 2-hour classes. These survivorship classes help cancer survivors and caregivers build skills to deal with fear of recurrence, relationship changes, nutrition, exercise, learning to relax and finding happiness. Attendance at all 12 weeks is strongly encouraged; while occasional schedule conflicts are understandable, registration is intended for those who expect to complete all 12 sessions.

    Building Resilience - The skills of survivors
    The Power of the Mind - Psychological strengthening skills
    Advocating for Me - Building a Survivorship Plan
    Comforting Myself - Learning to relax
    Moving Forward in the Face of Fear - Coping with fear in a productive way
    Refuel for Health and Energy - Nutrition for optimal healing
    May the Circle be Unbroken - Strengthening social support
    Renewing My Body; Regaining My Strength - Physical Rehabilitation
    Rebuilding My Core - Spirituality
    Adventures in the Supplement Jungle - Safe decision making about supplements
    Where Am I Going Now? - Planning for future health and happiness
    Happiness Is... Rebuilding a happy life

  • Techniques and strategies taught in this program help to maximize current cognitive performance through education and self-awareness. The program is taught in an informative, fun and interactive way that can help you improve the way you think, feel and function.

    The next class will be on Thursday evenings 5:30-7:00pm beginning September 26th . It will be held at Nebraska Cancer Specialists, 18201 Wright Street, Omaha.

  • A Time to Heal is proud to ioffer our newest program for YOU:

    "Create Your Best Life!" is a free event giving you, as friends of A Time to Heal, an opportunity to come together for a brief and fun wellness presentation followed by time for you to connect with your friends from A Time to Heal.

    The 2019 series continues on Tuesday, June 4th from 5:30-7:00pm at the Intercultural Senior Center, 5545 Center Street in Omaha. The program's topic, "Fighting Cancer with a Fork" will be presented by Chandy Lockman Hoke. Chandy is a board certified specialist in oncology nutrition and dietitian at Methodist Estabrook Cancer Center. She is dedicated to helping cancer survivors maintain proper nutrition before, during and after cancer.

    It will be a great opportunity to learn, to see your A Time to Heal friends, and to socialize! Light snacks will be provided.
